Loch Lomond Tour
(Braveheart & Rob Roy Country) Our driver will collect you from your
hotel or guest house. Heading west towards Loch Lomond we take
time for a short panoramic tour of Glasgow and find out how this once
industrial giant is again flourishing. Across the River Clyde we stop
on the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond Britain's largest expanse
of water, with time fo r
a boat trip or a ramble, your choice. After lunch in Aberfoyle. we drive
into The Trossachs National Park, a landscape formed by vulcanism, ice,
water and over five thousand years of human occupation forms the heart
of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. This countryside
of lochs, woodland, mountains and moorland has fascinated visitors since
the early nineteenth century, when they first came here to view the wonders
of nature. Driving through the villages of Callander and Doune we have
a photo stop at the Wallace Monument, a 200 ft tribute to the man immortalised
in the movie Braveheart. On top of a volcanic rock sits Stirling Castle.
With at least an hours stop on the castle esplanade you will have the
opportunity to visit the castle or other nearby attractions. Enjoy a relaxing
drive home listening to some Scottish music, we pass Bannockburn, and
Linlithgow Palace which was the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots in 1542.
