Loch Lomond Tour
(Braveheart & Rob Roy Country) Heading west towards Loch Lomond we take time for a short panoramic tour of Glasgow and find out how this once industrial giant is again flourishing. Across the River Clyde we stop on the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond Britain's largest expanse of water, with time fo r a boat trip or a ramble, your choice.Then drive into The Trossachs National Park, a landscape formed by vulcanism, ice, water and over five thousand years of human occupation forms the heart of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. This countryside of lochs, woodland, mountains and moorland has fascinated visitors since the early nineteenth century, when they first came here to view the wonders of nature. Driving through the villages of Callander and Doune we have a photo stop at the Wallace Monument, a 200 ft tribute to the man immortalised in the movie Braveheart. On top of a volcanic rock sits Stirling Castle. With at least an hours stop on the castle esplanade you will have the opportunity to visit the castle or other nearby attractions. Enjoy a relaxing drive home listening to some Scottish music, we pass Bannockburn, and Linlithgow Palace which was the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots in 1542.
