Edinburgh is the ancient capital of Scotland . Towering high above the city is Edinburgh Castle  which has a history of over 10 centuries. To the east of the castle lies the old medieval "Old Town" which is beautifully preserved and is home to the Scottish Parliament together with numerous museums.

The famous Royal Mile starts at the Castle and dramatically passes through the Old Town and ends at the ancient Palace of Holyrood which has been the home the Scottish Kings and Queens right up to the present day.

Edinburgh is also a modern, dynamic capital city where festivals attract the world's leading performers and artists. Edinburgh's theatres,concert halls and Opera House have full programs all year with the highlight being the International Festival every August. All the national galleries and museums are the city centre and the numerous bars ,restaurants and clubs create a livelycosmopolitan atmosphere with a distinctly Scottish twist.
