Entrance to the Crystal Visitor Centre & Glenkinchie Distillery is included During the tour of the Edinburgh Crystal Factory where we witness the creative talents of the craftsmen, you may be invited to “blow” your own glass. A factory shop is available if you want to purchase a souvenir. The origins of Edinburgh Crystal stretch back almost four centuries to the 1600's when the Venetians brought the techniques and skills of glassblowing to theEdinburgh area. The company was founded in 1867 and still works with the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water, to create the most captivating pieces. The design team have utilised the medium of crystal to ensure the elegance of Edinburgh and the natural beauty of Scotland is reflected in the cuts and swirls so admired throughout our ranges. A visit to Glenkinchie, the home of The Edinburgh Malt, involves a short and pleasant drive from Edinburgh Crystal into the rolling farmland of East Lothian. Here you can see a working distillery, the making of a capital malt in every respect. An exhibition of malt whisky is housed in the listed red brick building which was formerly the floor maltings. At the bar taste the Glenkinchie Single Malt which has a warm finish, dry with a smoky spiciness. Scottish music will be place at
appropriate times.
